Visits to the website

Travel Clinic Erasmus MC receives information about each visit made to our website. We restrict the information we collect to data about which pages are visited and how often. This information is automatically (without human intervention) accessible to authorised staff in the form of statistical summaries which allow us to monitor which information is of particular interest to our visitors and which less so. Information cannot be accessed by anyone other than certain authorised employees and under no circumstances is it sold or transferred to third parties.

The information about the use of the site (including the IP-address) is transferred to and stored by Google. Google does not give any guarantee that this information will be stored in the Netherlands or on servers within the European Union. The data may therefore be held in data centres in the United States.

Google is, however, included in the so-called “Safe Harbour List” of companies which have declared that they will comply with EU standards on the protection of personal data and therefore this possible transfer of data outside the EU is not in breach of the relevant EU privacy laws.

Google uses this information to analyse how the website is being used, to generate website activity reports for the use of website administrators and to provide other services related to website activity and internet use. Google provides more detailed information about its privacy policy on its website under Frequently Asked Questions about Advertising and Privacy.

If you so wish, you can install the browser add-on offered by Google. This prevents any information being collected by Google Analytics.
