Travel Clinic Erasmus MC offers regular consultation hours and consultation hours for special travelers: people with an illness or condition. The special travelers are seen at the infectiologist in the hospital and usually receive their vaccinations the same day at the Travel Clinic. The infectiologists also cooperate during regular consultation hours. This creates an exchange of knowledge and collegial consultations can take place if necessary.
Erasmus MC conducts research into infectious diseases and vaccines. For example, into the effect and effectiveness of vaccinations in different target groups. Setting up and coordinating the studies is the responsibility of Erasmus MC. Travel Clinic Erasmus MC is associated with the implementation. As soon as the fieldwork starts, it is therefore the employees of the Travel Clinic that the participants come into contact with.
Travel Clinic Erasmus MC is a knowledge center for doctors and nurses who want to work in the (sub)tropics, give travel advice or are interested in tropical diseases from their profession. To share our knowledge, we are available for consultation and advice and we provide education. The eight-day Tropical Course starts every autumn. And in collaboration with the NSPOH, we provide the modules Traveler advice for general practitioners and Traveler advice for doctor's assistants and practice nurses.
